Azuñia Tequila starts with only perfectly aged Weber Blue Agave, which grows harmoniously for 8 to 10 years in sun-drenched fields surrounding the small town of Amatitan. Each agave plant receives naturally produced rich nutrients from the fertile volcanic earth and a regime of seasonal weather. 

Many Mexicans celebrate the New Year by having a late night dinner with their families. A few dishes they might eat are Bacalao (dried salted codfish),  Tamales with guacamole dressing, Frijoles a la charra (beans in a pot), Buñuelos a fried sweet tortilla desert, and Pan de campo sweet type of bread. Another Holiday Favorite is Menudo a Mexican soup served before, after, or during the meal.

A few other Mexican New Year Traditions are:

a Sweet bread called Rosca de Reyes ( Three Kings Bread), is  sliced and served. One piece has a coin baked into it. It is believed whomever receives the coin will be blessed with luck throughout the new year.

You should eat a grape for every chime of the clock, leading to the stroke of midnight, and make a wish for each grape you eat. Every grape symbolizes  a month of the new year.

A thorough cleaning of your body, home or possessions is thought to give a new beginning to the year.

Many believe taking a walk  around the neighborhood, carrying your suitcase, will bring travel in the New Year.
